Extruder won't heat up, and fan not working

History

I just finished a printrbot simple kit build, and after connecting to repetier host .95f (I also tried .90c), I am able to control the x, y, and z motors with the manual control tab and these seem to have no problem at all, but when I attempt to heat up the extruder nothing happens. The temperature readout stays at 0 degrees Celsius, even though repetier says "Heating Extruder" at the top of the page. I tested the voltage of the extruder connection on the printrboard and it's reading 0 volts. I have also tried Pronterface and had the exact same results. Do I need a new printrboard or is there something else I can try?

Also, the fan doesn't seem to be working. It has never turned on so far, and I have tried turning it on in the manual page in repetier. I haven't checked the voltage at the connector yet for the fan though.

Hi Mike

M106 should turn the fan on if it's working, but if you're getting 0v on the hot end power (and make sure that your connected to hot end and not heated bed), then you may need to replace the board.

Just check than connection first and if it's still a problem, open a support ticket here

Let me know how you get on

Ian

I double checked the connection and it's definitely the hot end connection that I was using, and I double checked the voltage again today (still 0v). Also I ran the M106 command and the fan didn't respond. The voltage for the fan connector was also 0v. Looks like I need a replacement board, so I just opened a support ticket. Thank you for the help.
